I don't agree with all those saying the beta will be most likely for PS+ members. This is the beta, and CCP offered it to us EVE players using directly the account management. If they wanted to offer it for a semi commercial purpose to their future player base, they just would have adressed PS+ subbers directly. At the contrary I think they are trying to find a way to let us ALL have at least a chance to test it. I mean: the more of us who will try it, the more the feedbacks. And I don't think we will be billions and trillions btw. Probably they'll try to balance squads on a timezone base, but I'm just guessing.
Of course I'll be wrong, but the reason I'm bumping the topic here is that I just want to ask CCP some informations. It's not necessary to make a mistery upon somehting totally unknown and to retain basic informations where there is no information at all. Do you remember about your solemn promises about not to fall again into your "poor information syndrome"? Well this is (was) a good chance.
Is it too much to come here and tell us about your intentions? An idea about _when_, are we asking too much maybe? |

I know what is a "closed beta" and I've signed DPA before so I can't find where I'm missing something. I'm just asking for some little more information about CCP intentions about _when_ to start the thing up. Options are (example):
1- in 1 week from "now" 2- in less than 1 month 3- in at least one month 4- when we'll have reached the $put_a_number_here subscribers 5- when we'll have at least $put_a_number_here players for each timezone 6- there's no 6 7- we have things to fix with sony (assuming the beta will be running on their servers). As soon as we'll have them fixed we can start deploying the beta for the "elected ones" 8- any other option clarifying something about their technical requirements
So, again, I guess it's really just a "poor communication issue" what we're facing. It wouldn't change a thing to be informed about these basic elements and of course I don't think their plans should change because "we want", just to know something more. A better interaction with the community at this point should only bring more interest (and buzz) so...... why not?

First of all thanks for answering somehow, even if...... did you anser any of our questions?
Prolly I'm more confused than before. You talked about regional issues with the language, saying only "English speaking regions" will be allowed to play. So, if I'm not wrong these "regions" (not existing anymore since the colonialist era), are now these nations: Canda, USA, England, Ireland, South Africa, Australia (+ some sparse island in the middle of nothing somewhere). Note that Iceland shouldn't belong to any "english speaking region" I'm aware of.
So, this is how I interpret your message: "If your not living in one of the named english speaking _nations_ you won't be allowed in the beta". Otherwise since we EVE players are from all over the world and 90% of us is playing on a english client already, why all that troubles for the beta to be localized? Is it all because of sony/PSN restrictions? Guess so
Most of all, you didn't give us any time margin, not even the most vague and faint. How's that? Don't you have the lightest idea about how long will it take? That's me just guessing but anyway I've got the message: I'll be out from this beta, thanks. |

thanks for being so optimistic Hans but.....
Quote:Nothing CCP has said gives me the impression they are making an arbitrary list of countries, categorizing them by predominate language, and excluding players who live in a country where a majority speak something other than English.
...... maybe this?
Quote:With regards to the MPT availability, currently it is available In English for English speaking regions. So, if English is the official language in your country, you should be able to access DUST 514 MorduGÇÖs Private Trials from the local PSN store in your area
also, I know what is a localized software, but the problem here is not with the localization, rather than with the PSN restrictions, which have been explained right above. So, since the dev has been talking as enigmatically as a shaman but at the same time as misteriously as a well trained politician...... I translate his words as simply as this:
"don't get mad when you non-english speaking ones will not be accepted. And don't say I didn't warn you"
so far, so good. I just hope we will overcome these poor communication syndrome one day and we'll be able to talk about DUST rather than try to interpret CCP's intentions and will |

few questioning while turning the clepsydra upside down (once again):
will be dust rolled out during the inferno patch or will it be something indipendent? E3 is from 5th to 7th of June, any chances to know how much after the 'official launch' could we fully interact with dusters? Also, in the future how will the patches be released, in common or separately? Guess the former but you never know |
